Sandia Mountain Bear Collaborative Hosts the Annual Bear Fair at the Rio Grande Zoo!

Our yearly event, the Bear Fair, is happening on September 23, 2018 from 1-4 pm. It is at the Rio Grande Zoo*.

Join the Sandia Mountain Bear Collaborative for this festive event which will feature lectures on living with Bears, and Bear behavior. Children’s events and booths about wildlife from local organizations will be there! The booths will be located near the Polar Bear Enclosure, and the lectures will be at the Colores building.

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Bears and Were Afraid to Ask! – Rick Winslow, Bear and Cougar Biologist, NM Department of Game & Fish – 1:00pm

The Language of Bears – Daryl Ratajczak, Wildlife for You – 2:00pm

Natural History of Polar Bears – Jenn Ericksen, Rio Grande Zoo, Sr. Keeper – 3:00pm
